Activated Carbon/Catalytic Carbon/KDF Filters

Whole Premise Filtration at Point of Entry - A whole-premise filtration system from Maximum Water Systems is installed at a point on the home's water supply plumbing that will result in treatment and refinement of all water that travels to any faucet or fixture throughout the property.

Carbon is a substance that has a long history of being used to absorb impurities and is perhaps the most powerful absorbent known to man. We use only the finest grade of coconut shell granulated activated carbon. One pound of GAC carbon contains a surface area of roughly 125 acres and can absorb literally thousands of different chemicals. Activated carbon which has a slight electro-positive charge added to it, making it even more attractive to chemicals and impurities.

There are two principal mechanisms by which activated carbon removes contaminants out of water; absorption and catalytic reduction, a process involving the attraction of negatively-charged contaminants ions to the positively-charged contaminants activated carbon. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are removed by absorption and residual disinfectants such as chlorine and chloramines are removed by catalytic reduction.

Most properties have multiple sources of hazardous tap water including; faucets, showers, bathtubs, toilets, refridgerators, dishwahers, and washing machines.

The main health-challenging component in your tap water is chlorine and the disinfection byproducts (DBPs) it forms. Chlorine alone, is not as toxic as these DBPs you can consume, absorb, and inhale from the multiple sources within your home.

With a whole premise filtration system you will overcome the challenge of protecting your family, yourself and your property from chlorine and other contaminant hazards.

As an added benefit to the filtered water entering the property we offer the following add-on options:

KDF - This medium acts as a bacteriostat inhibiting any bacterial growth once the water is filtered, controls scale, assists in the removal of heavy metals and may also enhance the pH in the water.

Fluoride Reduction - Utilizing the base medium of Activated Alumina, it is an effective way of reducing the amount of fluoride in the water supply.
